7 december - Julmarknad

Just like in Germany (and well, actually also in the rest of Scandinavia and more and more in Holland too), Sweden knows the tradition of Christmas markets. They can range from some simple booths where you can buy a few decorations and a glass of glögg to big halls with lots of stalls and a guy playing Santa, where you have to pay for entrance.

Today, I went to the Sustainable Christmas Market, where my (ad-hoc) church choir sang at the beginning of the day to get people to enter. It didn't go that bad at all, even though it was quite cold to sing outside! I also bought an ecological lussekatt for lunch. (More about that on the 12th or 13th.) Apart from that, there were lots of fair trade and ecological Christmas presents to buy. Najs!

The market that I visited yesterday with a friend, however, was even more special. About an hour by car from Lund, close to Hässleholm, a market in an underground cave complex was being organised, which is obviously a very impressive and cozy atmosphere for such a thing. :-)

The idea was to give a nice impression by pictures. You'll see that I failed. ;-)

Without flash.

With flash. Atmosphere is GONE.

Tea brings the Advent Calendar - apple-cinnamon tea even! Nice, especially as snow has fallen here today!
