22 december - Back home
So yeah, I know I have complained about it sufficiently, but I still think that it sucks is a sign of political unwillingness to invest in public transport that the City Nightline between Copenhagen and Amsterdam has been cancelled. Alas, for this Christmas I had the choice between booking a flight or taking a day train. Because I justwanted to try it and actually like trains care soooo much about the environment, I booked a train that left at 7.43 on Monday morning from Copenhagen. I made it home around 9 PM. I am still in doubt whether it was just tiring or also fun.

The Öresundståg brought me to Denmark. Nothing special with that. |
They had a nice tree at Cph Central. |
The next train went to Hamburg...and went on a boat. The City Nightline didn't do that, so the day train is just SO much cooler. Kudos. |
The station in Hamburg is quite beautiful. |
And Deutsche Bahn understood that I wanted to stay there longer, so the train to Bremen was 35 minutes delayed. |
In Bremen I caught the regional train to Leer. Bremen station wasn't that impressive, but the Christmas decorations got points. |
I mean - look at that! |
